Parents, stay connected to your student's school.

  Mission Statement
The Parent Council of Auburn Adventist Academy exists to support and facilitate the mission of Auburn Adventist Academy through:
• Communication
• Volunteers
• Networking

Purpose of the Council
The Parent Council of Auburn Adventist Academy was set up in 2002 as an avenue for parents to become involved in the support of the academy, to help with the coordination of volunteers, and to be a source of networking between parents.

• Communication - Although the doors to Administration are always open to parents, the council helps facilitate concerns and suggestions of parents of which the Administration may not be aware.
• Volunteers - All good organizations have their volunteers and each year the Academy has parents willing to volunteer but not sure where they are needed. The Parent Council will help coordinate these parents with the opportunities available on campus. We will be looking for volunteers to help out at registration and for other various things happening on campus. We will, once again, ask the staff where they could use Parent Volunteers and then will work with you to fill those requests.
• Networking - Often, especially if this is the first year, there will be many questions that parents and students come up but don't know who to ask. It could be a concern as simple as where village students eat lunch or it may be something the administration would be involved in. You can contact a Parent Council Representative at any time. If they can't answer your question they will direct you to someone who can. The Parent Council is your source of networking and information.

Who makes up the Parent Council— All parents and guardians of students of Auburn Adventist Academy are part of the Parent Council. The Council is for you and can only work with your support and participation. Representatives from each class are appointed from the Parent Council to help communicate with the parents of that class and to assist and support the class sponsors. If you are interested in being a class representative please let one the Co-chairs or the Administration Representative know.

Meetings — The Parent Council will meet three times this year. These meetings will occur on Registration Day, Family Weekend, and Amateur Hour Weekend. During these meetings the administration will share information with you and you will have a chance to share your concerns.

 • Registration Day— There will be a Parent Council Meeting August 24, at 3:00 p.m. We encourage all parents to attend this first meeting of the year. In addition, Parent Council will have a table at Registration with more information. You will have the opportunity to show how you would like to support and participate at Auburn Adventist Academy and in the Parent Council this year.
• Family Weekend — The second Parent Council meeting will be held November 23, 9:00 a.m., in Evergren Chapel.
• Amateur Hour Weekend - The third Parent Council meeting will meet on March 14, 2009, 6:30 p.m., location to be announced.
