Hearts of Gold 2020 – The Joy of Online Bidding
Written by Gina Hubin, Growth & Development
When the Hearts of Gold online auction started at 8:00 am on April 28, we weren’t quite sure what the outcome would be of hosting an online event versus the live auction that, over the past 20 years, folks have come to love. What we did know was, this was God’s event and the outcome was His. Did people miss the dynamics of a live auction with healthy competition between eager bidders? Yes. But they focused that competitive bidding online and it was quite the battle, right up to the last moments when bidding closed at 9:30 pm on April 30.
And God did bless! Hearts of Gold raised over $119,000 for Auburn Academy student financial assistance. There was no doubt that God stirred generous hearts to action. A powerful aspect of an online event was, folks who normally can’t attend the live event, we’re now able to respond and participate, praise God! We have overflowing gratitude to all our participants - sponsors, donors, bidders, and volunteers.
Hearts of Gold is a generous community of supporters and we invite you to join us for other events that may happen this fall that will continue to bless as much as the online auction did this year. Watch for the 2021 Hearts of Gold auction - it may have some additional surprise features.
