9th Physical Education- Bradley Russell

Students will be introduced to the benefits of physical activity and learn to participate in several sports. They will learn skills and rules associated with several physical activities. Students will learn to cooperatively and actively participate in games and workouts. Students will improve skills and explore ways of adding physical activity to their lives. By the end of the course each student will have a better understanding of what it takes to be balanced Spiritually, physically, emotionally and scholastically.

 

Fitness- Bradley Russell

This course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn functional movements and patterns as well as weight training concepts and techniques used for obtaining optimal physical fitness. Course emphasis is on functional body movements, muscular strength, endurance, mobility, and safety. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of movement, weight training, strength training, aerobic training, and overall fitness training and conditioning. Weekly activities will include classroom lecture and instruction in weight room safety, warm-up/cool down procedures, lifting technique and safety for all lifts, major muscle identification, and individual goal setting sessions. Students will be empowered to make wise choices, meet challenges, and develop positive behaviors in fitness, wellness, and movement activities for a lifetime.

 

Swimming- teacher- Anthon Rasmussen

Swimming class is intended to help the student improve their endurance, and technique in the water. This course encourages personal growth and accommodates all level of swimmer.

 

Life-Guarding- Teacher- Anthon Rasmussen

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.
