In these uncertain times, there are so many unknowns. Where will each senior be in the fall? What will they major in? How are they going to pay for it? I know all these questions are going through every seniors’ mind. But I am certain of this. Adversity will always be with them, but God has plans for them. I have seen them pray for one another. There wasn’t a student that John couldn’t teach. Working with kids was not a job for him, it was a privilege and an art. Outside of being a father, teaching was John’s highest calling. He had a way of making kids feel special and loved. The care he displayed for students helped shape my teaching philosophy.

Ron began teaching at Auburn Adventist Academy in August of 1961, where he taught for the next 37 years. Over the years Ron sponsored many classes of seniors and also sponsored the Associated Student Body for over 15 years. Ron became quite famous for his “Northwest History Tour” for academic credit.

Auburn Adventist Academy has now finished five weeks of Distance Learning. As the circumstances of all our lives have been affected by COVID-19, so has the modality of education at AAA. Distance Learning is the tool that has allowed faculty and staff, students and parents, to continue the school year these last five weeks and move forward to finish the academic year.
